It’s a wrap on 2023! A lot of progress happened this year on theLloyd4U project. Here’s a review of some of our top moments this past year:
- Held two public meetings on the Eastside and Westside
- Launched a new tagline and education plan as we enter the next phase of the project
- Gained approximately 800 new text and email signups from thelloyd4u.com
Let’s look ahead at what improvements are coming to the Lloyd Expressway. Construction is expected to start in Spring 2024. Eastside improvements will start in Spring 2024. Eastside improvements will start in the Spring of 2024 and end in 2026. Westside improvements will be split into two phases. Phase one will start in 2024 and end in 2026, while phase two will start in 2026 and end in 2028.
Recently, INDOT opened a new displaced left turn on Indianapolis’ southside at the intersection of U.S. 31 and Thompson Road. Displaced left turns will be coming to Cross Pointe Boulevard, Burkhardt Road, Stockwell Road and Red Bank Road. Displaced left turns change the way traffic turns left at main intersections. For this innovative intersection, left-turning traffic is organized in advance and moves with through traffic on the Lloyd Expressway. watch this short video to see an example.
