Ramps on the north side of the Lloyd will close until mid-July
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – On Tuesday, June 3, two of the four ramps at University Parkway and the Lloyd will close until mid-July for pavement replacement. During the anticipated six-week construction period, crews will temporarily close:
- The northeast exit ramp from the westbound lanes of Lloyd Expressway to University Parkway
- The northwest entrance ramp from University Parkway to westbound lanes of Lloyd Expressway
Construction will not impact the southwest or southeast sides of the intersection. The eastbound exit and entrance will remain open.
Other improvements happening this week:
- West Side:
- On Monday, June 2, the intersection at Schutte Road will reopen.
- Starting at 9 a.m. Friday, June 6, there will be intermittent lane closures on the westbound lanes of the Lloyd in the vicinity of Rosenberger Avenue to allow for beams to be transported as part of the upcoming bridge being built over Carpentier Creek, just west of Tekoppel. There may be sporadic delays on the eastbound lanes due to the logistics involved with moving the long beams.
- East Side:
- The redesigned Hybrid Displaced Left Turn and Boulevard Left Turn on the Lloyd at Stockwell Road is anticipated to open the week of June 9. A reminder that the public is invited to attend a pair of interactive open houses at Harper Elementary School on Wednesday, June 4, to ‘test drive’ the redesigned Stockwell Road intersection. The open houses are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
