Lloyd4U: 5-day closure of southbound Burkhardt scheduled

Monday, September 15

🚧 Traffic Update: Good News! 🚧
INDOT has been able to begin work without closing both southbound lanes on Burkhardt Road! 👷‍♂️✅ We don’t anticipate needing the closure this week but stay alert for updates.

Friday, September 12

5-day closure of southbound Burkhardt scheduled

Starting after rush hour on Monday, September 15, southbound Burkhardt Road will be closed just south of the Lloyd Expressway for underground utility work.

If you’re heading to the Pavilion Shopping Center from the north, please take an alternate route over the next five days.

The road is expected to reopen by Saturday, September 20, weather permitting.

During construction:

✅ Plan ahead

✅ Allow extra time

✅ Stay alert in work zones

Your patience keeps everyone safe! Plan ahead by visiting INDOT TrafficWise or 511in.org to monitor conditions along the Lloyd.

Watch for lane shifts west of Red Bank as WB traffic lanes reopen

Be alert to a new traffic pattern starting either late Tuesday, September 16 or early Wednesday, September 17. Crews will shift the westbound traffic lanes back to the northern half of the Lloyd, the original westbound lanes.

The crossover will happen just west of Red Bank Road – watch for signs, follow the new lane markings, and obey construction speed zones!

EB traffic will shift to sharing the WB lanes on or after Saturday, September 20, after barrier wall is in place.
