Don’t miss your chance to take the new Epworth intersection for a test drive before it opens!
INDOT and the Lloyd4U team are hosting a displaced left turn education event Tuesday, July 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Evansville Christian School, 10644 Lincoln Ave, Newburgh, IN.
Walk through a large visualization of the intersection and familiarize yourself with this innovative improvement. You can get a closer look at maps of the intersection and watch videos that give a driver’s perspective. Epworth is the first of four displaced left turn intersections coming to the Lloyd Expressway. Join us and learn more about the improved efficiency and added safety coming to Epworth and the Lloyd in mid-August.
As the midpoint of summer approaches, the Lloyd4U construction crews continue preparing the Lloyd Expressway for future improvements.
Beginning on Thursday, July 25, and continuing through Monday, August 5, the eastbound and westbound inside lanes will be closed from Rosenberger Avenue to St. Joseph Avenue. The lane closures will permit crews to construct a crossover and complete median shoulder strengthening. These activities are in preparation for future phases of construction. During this period, a temporary barrier wall will be installed for the safety of workers.
In late June, Evansville Water and Sewer Utility closed access to Boehne Camp Road just north of the Lloyd Expressway the 60-day closure is needed as EWSU relocates a water main as part of the Lloyd4U project. Boehne Camp Road is expected to reopen towards the end of the summer. For more information on the closure, click here to view Project & Advisory Map.
