Delivery will create temporary stoppages on Wednesday
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Another major step towards progress on Evansville’s west side is set to begin on Thursday, May 1. Crews plan to close Tekoppel Avenue underneath the Lloyd Expressway to install new bridge beams as part of the westbound Lloyd Expressway improvements.
The Tekoppel Avenue closure will shut down access between Corbierre Avenue and Forest Avenue to make room for placement of the large concrete bridge beams onto the expanded Lloyd Expressway.
The full-day closure will begin early Thursday morning and is expected to be completed before May 2.
The beams will be delivered on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 30. Motorists can expect temporary stoppages when the trucks carrying the beams are moved in place. Local motorists should plan ahead for the closure and visit the Indiana Department of Transportation’s 511.in.org TrafficWise website to get the latest in traffic information.
